We know that enjoying a Family Vacation in the Mexican Caribbean with children, can sometimes be a challenge by itself. So we wanted to give you some specific tips:

Family Vacation Pro Tips:

🧴 Eco-friendly sunscreen. It can get extremely hot here (especially between the months of July and September), so always have some sunscreen and fresh water on hand. Be aware that the cenotes in the area will only allow for bio-degradable sunscreen or no sunscreen at all, so make sure to pack hats, sunglasses and enough t-shirts to protect your children’s delicate skin.

🦟 Biodegradable-bug spray. The Riviera Maya is a tropical and jungle-like place and mosquitos will probably visit you at some point during your vacation, so make sure to have a mosquito repellent in your bag. BeeTip: most restaurants will have a mosquito repellent on hand for their guests; just ask your waiter!

🌶 Spicy Food. Visit some local restaurants to get more familiar with our culture, but if your kids don’t like spicy, make sure to always let your waiter know!

Fun Activities To Try

Xenses Park

Being truthful to its name, let all your senses be dazzled by this family-friendly entertainment park with more than 50 attractions. Their main attractions are their optical illusions; see how you walk down the street, while clearly having the feeling that you’re actually walking upwards! The minimum age recommended for this park is 5 years old. Enjoy some family fun at Xenses Park!

Selvatica

Selvatica is one of the few tourist attractions in the Riviera Maya that will give you an adrenaline rush! Lots of fun activities packaged in different tours: zip lining, bungee swinging and a Safari truck ride! Note that children must be at least 8 years old to participate in the excursions.

Cenotes

Your family trip to the Riviera Maya MUST include a visit to a Cenote!  Your children will have so much fun becoming little cave explorers. Don’t forget to bring a snorkel mask with you! Try Cenote Yax-kin or Aktun Chen in Tulum; both are perfect options for some family fun!

Xcaret México Show

As the evening approaches, Xcaret gets ready to host one of the most colorful shows of the Riviera Maya and Cancun, featuring more than 300 artists on stage. Enjoy a 2-hour journey through the rich culture of Mexico with your family. This show is for children of all ages and can be visited by itself or after a full day of family fun at Xcaret park.
