1. Xpu-ha
Located 20 mins from Playa del Carmen towards Tulum, here you’ll find many fun water activities such as snorkel, kitesurfing and stand up paddle.
Local tip: Don’t forget to walk all the way to the tip of the bay!
How to get there? Take a local highway van (Cancún-Playa del Carmen-Tulum) and ask the driver to leave you at the public entrance (not the beach clubs or glamping entrance). Once on the beach, walk to the left side and find your perfect spot!

2. Xcacel-Xcacelito
This hidden beach is a Marine Turtle Sanctuary and the best part is it has its own cenote!
Local tip: Try arriving early (closing time is 5pm) and experience releasing baby turtles when it’s turtle nesting season 🐢
How to get there? Located aprox. 19th km from Tulum towards Akumal, you can get there by private car or taxi. The local van transportation Cancún-Playa-Tulum will also do a stop there if asked.

3. Xcalacoco
This is a perfect place for camping!
Local Tip: Bring all you need for a picnic including an umbrella to spend the afternoon. If you’re a romantic, don’t miss out on visiting this beach on a full moon evening 🌕
How to get there? It’s a 10-15 minute drive from Playa del Carmen (towards Cancún). Ask a taxi to take you directly, or if you go by rental car try to get there early as parking spaces are limited.

4. Soliman Bay
This secret beach has its own coral reef for you to explore! 30 mins away from Playa del Carmen you’ll find it between Tulum and Akumal.
Local Tip: Eat some fresh fish while you enjoy a “Coco Loco” (Rum with Coconut) under the palm trees at Chamicos Restaurant 😎🥥
How to get there? Ask a taxi to bring you there or if you’re going by private car take the highway Playa del Carmen-Tulum. Bahia Soliman is located aprox. 17 km before Tulum by the “Oscar & Lalo Restaurant” highway sign.

5. Playa Paraíso
Located very close to Tulum’s Hotel Zone, it’s one the last public beaches in the area. You’ll find a lot of different restaurants and beach clubs here, and you can even rent a “Palapa” to spend the day!

How to get there? This beach is located less than 1 km away from the Tulum archaeological area and it has it’s own parking.
